I buried my heart deep underground,
Under the dirt,
In a hole in the woods,
Covered in moss, wet in dew,
I buried my heart in a box,
Covered it in sand, granules and rocks,
A brick to hold it down,
I buried my heart under the seafloor,
In a treasure trove,
Beneath coral and shells,
I’ll walk around heartless, mindless, soulless,
I can’t remember where I buried the essence of myself?
I’ll keep walking till I find it,
I buried my heart so deep,
I’ve forgotten how to unearth it.
