Marigold- A Quote and Bonus Poem. Challenge Day 1

I would like to thank Matt, at A Standard Issued Life, for this challenge. You should head over and check out his poetry, you will be impressed!

The Quote:

“The minute I heard my first love story,
I started looking for you, not knowing
how blind that was.
Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere.
They’re in each other all along.”

The Poem:

Marigold. Yellow loves of soft stems.

Yellow marigolds line the river,

Yellow loves of soft stems,

Scent dividing the air, strong and overpowering,

Swings between lovers caress,

In a dream you were all mine to taste,

I lap you up in clinging obsession,

Search for a blossom to call my own,

I walked along this bank with restless steps,

Past the marigolds, and wept,

All the while she was with each step.

My nominees for Day 1 are:
