The Secret Garden

What lies within?
The walls, of sin,
Crumbled and powdered sand,
Deteriorated, these shallow partitions,
Submitted to the earth’s core,
Dust and dirt,
Ash to cover the scene,
A cloud draped over the trees,
Chartreuse, the colour of the day,
Two geese and farrow lay,
A girl of only eighteen wiped tears away,
Climbed over the barricade,
The outline of the secret garden below,
Bluebonnets and tulip buds,
Uncovered,
Abandoning
The four walls of misery.

  1. You are truly a poetic lyrical brilliance!

My favorite lines: Dust and dirt,
    Ash to cover the scene,
A cloud draped over the trees,

Seems like you understand the surrealism of your own dreams and what you feel inside. Jennifer, I give this poem of yours ‘Two Thumbs Way Up! 🙂
