I Will Meet You

I will meet you,
In the place below the foothills,
Where soft falling leaves float,
Our love a memory;
In white lace and pearls,

I will meet you,
In the place on-top of misty mountain,
Where snowflakes fall and lie wistful on our heads,
Our love a distance song,
In white velvet and rose thread,

I will meet you,
In the place of frozen lakes and slate,
Where ice caps and cold air creates,
Our love a motionless piece,
In winters end and Demeter’s tears,

I will meet you,
In the place under the Mulberry Tree,
Where we lay among the stems,
Our love a dappled muse,
In ripen fruit and honeyed lips,

I will meet you,
In the place below the stars,
Where stardust falls, from our eyes,
Our love awake in the sky,
In shades of gold and silver night,

I will meet you,
In the place between day and night,
Where time stands still,
Our love, neither here nor there,
But forever in our hearts.

I will meet you,
In the place where the clouds know our names,
Where we will be, free,
My love,
I will meet you there…

  1. Like this a lot. She will meet him, wherever their love is, in whatever time or season, but she wants in the end, to with him in the place their love is free to be. Lovely repitition and construction of this poem.
