Gasoline

Gasoline,
And ripped jeans,
Taking over the curb,
Tongue in cheek and rolled up sleeves,
On the verge of fashion queen,
A mouth full of polished lies,
Hidden behind the derail of labels,
A registered trademark,

Send in the white knights –
And golden lights,
All the boys, hang on tight,
Suspended by a wire,
Wanting to go higher,
A cigarette and sunglasses at noon –
Indifferent to their cries,
Postpone the merry-go-round,
The carnival lost the clown,
The cool kids stole the show,
One size fits all –

In the shade of this black and white charade.
