Silent Sea

Across the pond
Rocks inscribe in mossy tones
Salt and brine encase the mind
Were waves cast their thick foamy lips
upon the ocean floor.
Coral crush and skeletons stalk
The bones cast to the deep.
Were mermaids cry and chant
and sailors cross the seas.
Pirates seek and steal,
Pilfer and thieve their weight in gold
In ships of leaking timber
and skies of heavens ravine song
lingering with the pit below.
Betraying our senses and
heightened under the stormy nights.
Were we are never still.
Riding the waves of fright
In a sea of silence.

Just you and I.
