About Jen

12143132_10153640084655629_7182613625286903980_nInk and Quill is writer Jennifer Calvert’s collection of poetry, musings, short stories, and excerpts of her manuscripts in progress. In addition to being an aspiring author. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Arts, majors in Writing and Media, is a mother of two beautiful young daughters, an Early Childhood Educator and is always busy writing poetry and her manuscript.

Writing about her journey into motherhood and the bumpy road of being a mother, author, and student of literature.

A road,

A doorway,

A voyage,

A path,

A chapter,

A journey on land, by sea by sky, between two places, the path has been paved.

If you find me here, stay awhile; join me on my journey, of prose.

A little bit more…

As a child, my imagination would run wild, conjuring up magical stories and characters. I loved creativity writing. I owe my love of writing to my mother, who would read to me every night.
It wasn’t until I started university, as a mature age student; that I realised writing was no longer a hobby, but something I wanted to take seriously.
Like most writers, the passion and need to write, took over and became so much more than an interest. Yet a profound desire, to put pen to paper. To share a little part of me, with others.
So here I am; a writer, student, mother and most recently a blogger at Ink and Quill.
Ink and Quill is a collection of my poetry, prose and fiction. A place of originality and quirkiness.
A place where I can express myself, learn, develop and share my writings.
Since starting my blog. I have connected with exceptionally talented people from around the world and my writing has progressed immensely and my love of poetry has flourished.

Ink and Quill is a part of me, which I want to share with you.
Love Jen

  4. Hello Jennifer,
This isn’t my usual thing, but I’ve nominated you for a web-log award (which means you’ve won a melodramatically-titled award composed entirely of words and pixels, and I know you may have had your fill of these…), and you are welcome to collect your ‘trophy’.
You are under NO obligation or expectation to do anything as a consequence; but you have been named as a web-log I value. Take that howsoever you choose, and I hope you enjoy!
