Amazon Queen – Revised

The sky sleeps

in the soft flow of night

The wind whispers under a cloak

of black and gold,

She glitters below the leaves,

 of broad-leaved evergreens

Above the canopy, rain falls

Of turquoise hues

and silky moss

faerie orchids stalk

Her heart line like an exotic

capillary-flower

Etched, deeply profound

A kapok,

tendrils strangling its host,

leaving behind a haunted fig

A ghostly fog –
Sensually, night slips into dawn

Burnt orange

sunrise

She, the protector

of all that are gone

Singing a warrior song –

Dazzling Queen of the Amazon.

Mess Me Up

In a cave
of undecided thought
and suffocating walls
my pulse beats
in between the breaks
of dusk and dawn,
A hole of blackness
of finality,
With the stench of musk
and beads of sweat,
My teeth relay the taste of death,
A leech to the skin
Blood-sucking gin –
Savoured,
like earth and water
Alive,
zesty salt and bite,
I got my kicks from
a parasite,
left him dry,
Ripped stockings
rolled high,
Knee-high boots wedged in his thigh,
A silent movie played,
over and over in my head,
This could be heartbreak,
if my heart wasn’t deceased
Instead I lick my fingers clean,
Mess me up
and ask me to stay
thirsty
alone in this cave.
