FREE Horns & Halos Poetry Collection

Poetry is fluid and interchanging based on emotion and perception. It allows both the poet and the reader to discover and interpret the words, for themselves.

Life is a lot like poetry, always changing, unique, flexible, forever challenging the mind, and flooding the senses.

Horns & Halo’s was written to convey this sense of self through both emotion and experience. Horns & Halo’s connects the written word, with the real world. No bullshit, no sugar-coating, just up front and raw…

BOLD AND STRONG…LIKE A WOMAN

Winter’s Final Note-Revised

Winters Final Note In sleet and snow the land stretched below and the cold earth moaned a mournful cry The skies overhead bleed in white – drops fall beneath a sinking sky, harrowing unspoken sighs Running rivers rest in silver … Continue reading

Skeleton Walking

Strip back the skin Slip into oblivion Open the cavity of my blackened heart Void Pulsating in throbbing hands Alive, but dead within the shell – The red ink spills Warm the liquid runs Through fingers and limbs and broken … Continue reading

Two Dead Snakes

The squalling wind
presses against my cheek
like winters cold lips
in tiny buds tears spring
like velvet drops warmed by kiss,
caress my skin
Withstood the cast of weathered tides
An anchor to bind our feet
Drowning in a watery grave
Engraved your name across my mind
Decorated –
Enthralled in stars
Etched beyond the times
Two hundred and three years between the seasons past
Our soul reincarnates
Like two dead snakes
Sprawled on the lawn
Covered in skin of a leathery kind
Twisted and coiled
Worn
Old and forlorn
Shedding our skin
Exposed by our exterior
Our hearts told,
to begin again
our legend unfolds.

Porcelain Doll

She lurked beneath the sea In languid dreams Among encrusted shells and aqua marine Swimming in tales of bootleg bandits and treasures foreseen. Her eyes mirrored by the swell Sinking in coral A wet porcelain doll – Stitched with serrated … Continue reading

Black Market

I AM

6755737b24cd7eaf71094ae8d4d1860fHow can I sit in idle?
And allow you to ridicule my being,
Who I am
and
who you think I am
are completely contrasting,
My colours shine through
the light I allow
and you can’t blind them
with your negativity.
You don’t know me,
You don’t even know you,
So take your judgemental eyes
And cask it back upon yourself
I am not a victim
I am not a pushover
I am not yours to influence
I will not allow you to
determine who I am.
I follow my own path.

Silent Sea

Across the pond Rocks inscribe in mossy tones Salt and brine encase the mind Were waves cast their thick foamy lips upon the ocean floor. Coral crush and skeletons stalk The bones cast to the deep. Were mermaids cry and … Continue reading

The Sound Of Flight

Under maple trees,
Of golden light,
She swayed to the sound of flight,
With wings of plighted oath,
Tied in fabric around her back,
Taunt by the weight of the knit,
Draped and folded over,
She whispered a mellow song,
Delicately echoed across the land,
A melody of murmured tune,
Swept in the wind,
For she had forgotten how to fly,
Her heavy heart held a burden,
Of gravity, unfathomed,
Unsound,
On the brink of the edge,
She trusted in herself,
Opened her wings,
Plunged,
Head first,
To fly amidst the clouds.
