Devotion- A Colloboration with Ax

devotion
i.

He held her hand and began to tell a story
Eyes wide and round filling with glory
He painted the moon full in her honour
And set in motion his devotion upon her
To the skies above he declared his love
He stroked unyielding, swooning his dove
Pouring his words, the world becomes a blur
And set in motion his devotion upon her
He pledged a beating heart that lives inside
With a broad chest, his passionate breath will rise
To speak in truths, may it fill her to stir
And set in motion his devotion upon her
A charm in the night, like a shooting star
His love ignites a celestial light seen from afar
To awaken their love, shower her in stardust myrrh
And set in motion his devotion upon her

ii.

A young girl dreams in a moment in time
Where the world makes no reason nor rhyme
When chance comes to life in a beam of light
That sets in motion his devotion in sight
A place strung between words and verses
Like a string of pearls in stanza to kick start their love
A vivid backdrop of insanity, injected deep into her heart
That sets in motion his devotion in sight
He held her hand and pulled her in
The beat of his heart soaked into her skin
The tempo turned with a lustful might
That sets in motion his devotion in sight
Under an umbrella, a canopy of cadence
Creating an atmospheric heaven, she desires,
Droplets of dreams, dwindling from above
That sets in motion his devotion in sight

iii.

Years that pass, boy becomes man
Bending a knee, still holding her hand
His silence breaks with a gaze to seize
To set in motion his devotion for eternity

Everlasting their love believed,
Dwindled each day, in silence they delay,
Hushed by the pain in her heart, the truth frayed,
To set in motion his devotion for eternity

She looked down as a tear began to fall
Her hand in his, he, presenting a ring
That she declined for she loves another, truly
To set in motion his devotion for eternity

Fallen, into a well of forsaken love,
Unable to comprehend, the true feelings of her heart,
Wet and weakened, collapsing achingly into the hands of the other man,
To set in motion her devotion for eternity.

Working alongside Ax at Perso in Poesia, is always an honour and a pleasure. This is our third collaboration and I have to say, each time gets better and better. A true poet; his talent and creative mind continues to astound me. I’m very lucky to work with such a gifted writer. I hope you enjoy reading this, as much as we enjoyed writing it.

Thank you Ax, for inspiring and challenging me!
