A Thousand Words

poems

I’m a quiet person, but I have loud thoughts and vivid idea’s. I am creative and impatient and I’m passionate about writing. So my words come across as strong and loud.

If you meet me, you might think I’m quiet and reserved, but I’m just in a constant state of thought. I like to listen and ponder, and when I do its usually written down. But just because I’m quiet in person doesn’t mean I don’t have something to say.

Maybe some people are so loud in person, they don’t let anyone else speak. But that’s okay I admire these outspoken people, but it’s just not for me.

But, because I am quiet it hasn’t got me to the places I want to be. Well not fast anyway. But again that’s okay because I’ll take my time. Sometimes slow and steady wins the race?

Don’t lose sight of your dreams

Life is busy and we all get stuck in the cycle of life, just don’t forget to take time to remember and reflect on your dreams…it’s important not to lose sight of what it is you want to achieve.

Don’t let anyone tell you, you can’t or it’s too hard. Follow your own path and if it gets hard, take time out to reflect on ways you can further yourself. I think we’re all so busy just surviving our days, that we often don’t allow time for reflection. Even if it’s 30 minutes a day, that you can dedicate to working towards your dreams, do it. Once you start aligning yourself with your visions and hopes, things will start coming into fruition.

Be authentic

Follow your dreams

Believe that anything is possible.

That no matter, how much someone tells you, you can’t achieve something, for whatever reason, that you can. I want to prove this not only for myself but for my children and other’s. After all we all have the power within us to achieve our dreams.

・・・
I swam out past the break
To see what was there
And it was just miles and miles
Of endless sea
The infinite flow of life and love.

Fuck It

I wrote this poem, with tears in my eyes, for the words are real and raw. I’ve always struggled to believe in myself and especially my writing. But it seems I’ve turned a point in my life now and there’s no going back. I’m realising that I can write. And am going to, no matter what. So ‘fuck it’ can be my mantra. Because I’m moving out of my comfy home and into the wild 😜

Thanks to my dear friend Cassie for the mantra 💗

I’m Back

It’s been awhile my friends. But I’m back!

I haven’t forsaken my writing, in fact I’ve been working harder than ever before and that’s why I’ve been absent here on Word Press.

In the time I’ve been away. I’ve had another beautiful baby girl, Audrey who is already 9 months old. I’ve published my first poetry collection, Horns & Halos. I’m almost finished my fantasy manuscript and working on a children’s picture book. My publishing journey feels more tangible than ever before.

I’d love to hear from you and see how you all are going with your writing and I will be making sure I check out your blogs!

So happy to be back. The writing community is so important in the writing process!
