East of the Sun

East of the sun,
In an oasis of sunlit dreams,
Of ocean and waves, spray and mist,

South of the moon,
In a cosmos of stellar and moonlight,
Of astral and silver, gleam and glitter,

West of the golden earth,
In lovers bathes,
Streams and gullies, taverns and springs,

North of the artic stars,
In a snowflake of mirrored hearts,
Of flurry and sleet, winter and solstice,

Our love in a castle,
Of silver and gold,
Of sun and shade,
Of heat and cold,
Of rivers and oceans,
Our love runs bold.

Aeolian Harp

The Aeolian harp,

Resonating across the sea,

Black sand beaches,

Magic descends,

Mystical woodlands,

Leathery, fleshy leaves of the Frangipani tree,

Vanilla candles and Chocolate cosmos,

Valleys of petal blooms,

Of velvety depth,

Metal casings,

Whispered in cadence,

On the wind,

In each breath,

Alluded by charm,

Winged, in loves realm.

Soul In The Shadows-Quote and Bonus Poem, Challenge, Day 3.

I would like to thank Matt, at A Standard Issued Life, for this challenge. You should head over and check out his incredible poetry, you will be impressed!

The Quote:

(I Broke the rules, it’s a Sonnet…Rules are made to be broken right?)

Pablo Neruda, Sonnet XVII

I don’t love you as if you were a rose of salt, topaz,

or arrow of carnations that propagate fire:

I love you as one loves certain obscure things,

secretly, between the shadow and the soul.

Soul In The Shadows

A precious gem, opal and Alexandrite, colours of sparkling moonlight,

Rouse lover’s eyes,

Coral and sand converge on the ocean floor, spin and whirl,

Strokes lover’s thighs,

Clay earth and burnt land, unvarnished and gaping truth,

Inflame lover’s beds,

It is in the shade,

She walks with me

Into sunlights kiss,

Obscurities amiss,

I love you without notion,

Your soul in the shadows,

Into the sun, our hearts as one.
